In the 1980s, he founded the Gulistan Literary Society, Chunian, District Kasur.
In 1983, he launched the children’s magazine Gulistan as the chief editor.
From 1987 to 2000, he served as the editor of the monthly Sahil Rang Kasur.
He was associated with the prominent social organization of Kasur district, Awami Kulti Anjuman, as the Director of Information and Publications.
He did his MA in Punjabi Language and Literature from Punjab University.
He was an article writer for magazines in the daily Imroz, Mashriq and Jang, Lahore, and was associated with the Family Magazine of Nawa-e-Waqt, Lahore as a sub-editor/feature writer.
He worked as a correspondent for the English newspapers The News, Lahore and The Frontier Post, Lahore.

He is a visiting lecturer and teacher trainer in the Department of Communication at the Punjab University, Lahore.
He is doing community journalism through the official Urdu Canada digital media platform.
He has published 7 books: Sarzameen Khak-o-Khun, Dur Ke Dhol Sahane, Hajj Beti, Dunya Ki Omid Pakistan, Batal Ke Rang, Selected Articles and Editorials, and Canada Stories.
